DescriptionTortoiseshell creamware plate with a serpentine press-molded rim. The rim decorated with alternating panels of dot and star diaperwork edged with foliate scrolls, the front sprinkled with mineral oxides creating a mottled look reminiscent of tortoiseshell comprised of grey, brown, ochre, and green. The reverse of the plate is sprinkled with manganese-brown.
