Label TextFragments of this pattern in red and blue were found during excavations of the Vauxhall Pottery in Lambeth, now part of London. They were decorated in the same linear manner as this plate and with similar leaves and flowers. The Vauxhall pottery was owned by the Chilwell family and then by Samuel Swabey. During the period that this plate was produced, the factory was operated by Mary Chilwell (1731-1753).
