DescriptionDome-lid box with iron lock and hasp faux-painted in brown and black over yellow to simulate the growth rings of a tree. Nailed construction.Label TextThe painted pattern on the top and front of this spectacular yellow box gives the impression that the wood was cut from the round end of a log. The black and reddish brown faux-graining mimics the concentric growth rings of a tree. This fanciful decoration gives a striking and whimsical appearance to an otherwise simple form.
ProvenanceDonors acquired the box from Penny and Ron Dionne in the early 1970s.
