DescriptionSquat feldspathic stoneware jug or pitcher with straight neck, molded and applied spout and 'c' scroll molded handle, a band around the rim and the central portion of the body coated in a dark brown slip with white sprig decoration applied on top, the scene depicting horses, fields, and trees. The jug has been turned on a lathe creating vertical ridges around the body, just above the foot.Label TextThis style of Chetham and Woolley jug is often referred to as MIST-type because of their relationship to marked examples that were sold by James Mist, a London retailer.
