DescriptionLead-glazed earthenware, thrown, pipkin or cooking pot, interior appearing bright yellow, exterior glazed over copper green slip reaching half-way down the side of the pot, the vessel sitting on three unglazed, pinched feet, small looped handle attached at the rim and half-way down the side of the pot, rim is everted.Label TextDuring the 17th century, goods from the Netherlands as well as England (and other areas) were coming to the American Colonies and not just Dutch colonies but also to English colonies including Virginia. Excavations from Jamestown and around Williamsburg have revealed cooking pots and pipkins of this type.
