DescriptionFine white cotton collar or frill consisting of a gathered ruffle, 3 1/4" wide, sewn to a half-inch band with drawstring inserted and attached to a capelike tucker for wearing under a dress. Single opening, for front or back.
Label TextRuffled white collars, sometimes called frills, were especially fashionable accessories between 1800 and 1820; the extensions were tucked down into the neckline, similar to modern dickies.
