DescriptionThis print depicts the north view of Tower-Hill, in 1746. Tower-Hill is an elevated spot northwest of the Tower of London. During the 18th century, it was under direct administrative control of the Tower. It was the site of a vast number of executions of high-profile criminals like William Boyd, 4th Earl of Kilmarnock, privy counselor to Charles Edward Sutart, and who fought in the Battle of Culloden, and the 6th Lord Balmerino.
