DescriptionIt is a nine-light upper window sash with panes measuring 10" by 12" and muntins measuring 1-1/2" wide with 1/2" fillet. Sash was the upper sash in a double-hung window. Holes for lead glazing pins (to hold glass panes) remain; parts of lead glazing pins remain at the bottom right and left. Wear on the inside of the rails directly over the muntins indicates movement of the lower sash. Several nail holes on right side remain. "I I I I" inscribed on top edge. It is closed mortise-and-tenon construction that is rabbeted and pegged. Label TextThis is an original circa 1750s window sash from Charlton's Coffeehouse. The wide dividers between the panes of glass, called muntins, indicate this sash was constructed before 1760.
