DescriptionA large white cotton handkerchief that was block printed to shape. A running flower and leaf boarder encloses four sides of the handkerchief that is now a brown sepia tone, but was a rich purple color. Each corner has a centered sprig motif. The cotton was woven with heavier threads on all four sides of the handkerchief close to the border, perhaps to denote where to cut the pieces or to allow more threads to help with the printing.

Worn in Albany, New York.
