DescriptionBrass snuff or tobacco box: Rectangular box with rounded ends, seamed sides, and hinged, stamped relief-pattern lid with large hinge plates and wire loop hinge. Lid ornamented with scene of a woman and man, each accompanied by a cherub, flanking a central figure playing pan pipes
Label TextSmall metal boxes with close-fitting lids were used for both snuff and smoking tobacco.
