DescriptionLong cloak of medium brown ribbed silk, lined with pink tabby silk and woolen batting. Rounded collar and cape over shoulders with rows of quilting around the edges. Body of cloak gathered to yoke at shoulder. Front closed with wide straps and metal buckles. Back shaped in at the waist. Ties at waist to hold the back close to body.
Label TextIn the late 1820s and 1830s, sleeves became extremely wide. Loose cloaks with capes on the shoulders went over wide sleeves better than a fitted coat would have.
