DescriptionWoman's slipper constructed of white silk brocaded with green, blue, and yellow silk. White diaper patterned ground with floral figure pattern. The toe of each shoe shoes a blue and white shaded flower with green foliage surrounding it and to the edge of each shoe is evidence of a second floral pattern in yellows. Bound at the edge and trimmed with a double row of green silk pleated ribbon. 2 5/8"-high heel shaped with angle under the arch and covered with white leather. White leather lining. This style of slipper is sometimes referred to as a "mule."

Construction History:
1. 1770-1780: Initial Construction
2. There may have at one time been an additional row of green pleated ribbon running between the two remaining rows. A line of scarring and thread remnants is evident in that area.
