DescriptionPlane of standard rectangular shape with a step on the discharge side and a recut sole. Working life alterations include the two strips of wood flanking the throat that are secured to the step with nails with their bottom surfaces serving as part of the sole. The top and side edges have narrow flat chamfers that terminate with gouge cuts on the original step and lamb’s tongue cuts on the far side. Fitted with a sharpened iron and wedge with a slightly relieved oval finial and a simple single curve notch.MarkingsI*NICHOLSON / IN / CVMBERLAND
