DescriptionRaised silver beaker with stepped circular foot and bell-shaped body with drawn band at rim.Label TextAlthough the makers and retailers of this small silver beaker are as yet unidentified, it is marked in a manner often found on silver made in New York in the early nineteenth century. It’s bell-shaped body is a less-common variant of the straight sided beaker form that was made throughout the new nation.
InscribedEngraved on sides in sprigged script "AHA" opposite "MTB" or "MSB"
MarkingsMarked on base in relief with pseudo hallmarks: 1) an anchor in an oval; 2) a five-pointed star; and 3) a sovereign's head duty mark in an oval (partially struck). Also marked on base incuse "H &G" for unidentified makers or retailers
