DescriptionSection of an interior architrave from the Travis House.Label TextThis circa 1760 section of a door or window architrave comes from the Travis House. The earlier paint reveal showed seven generations of paint, while modern analysis showed thirteen. Paint analysis determined that the earliest paint layer pigment is characteristic of Prussian Blue, a popular pigment that was sold in several stores in Williamsburg in the 18th century.
