DescriptionCircular pewter dish with single-beaded edge, moderate width rim, and flat central well.
Label TextJoseph Leddel, Sr., is among the first generation of pewterers in America for whom work survives, albeit in limited quantiles. His son Joseph, Jr., was also a pewterer; it is difficult to distinguish between their output.
MarkingsStamped on back of well in relief two times with a rope-work oval containing a three-masted sailing ship beneath a balance (?), and once with “I•FROM•L/OLD:ENGLAND” in stacked rectangles with engrailed edges.
