DescriptionPair of Brass candlesticks of columnar form, each stem cast in two halves and peened onto cast bases. They have cylindrical sockets topped by eight-petalled flanges with large, dome-topped knops below, and smaller ones further down the stem. Each slightly domed base is square with eight petals.Label TextMarked brass candlesticks are rare, and one of this pair carries the mark of Edward Durnall, a brazier and tin-plate worker based in Birmingham during the last half of the 18th century.
