DescriptionTurned lignum vitae handle fitting seamed conical socket with cast scrolled and forked attachment to rim of bowl; elliptical bowl with everted rim, shaped sides, and spout at right-angles to handle. "W/RC" in block letters engraved on underside of bowl.InscribedOwners' initials (W over R C) on underside of bowl.
MarkingsMaker's mark "RI" in block letters with a raised mullet between within a rectangle, leopard's head crowned, lion passant, and date letter on interior center-bottom of bowl.
ProvenanceThis ladle was procured by the Garrad & Co, Ltd., London, from W.H. Willson, 1 King Street, St. James, London, S.W.1, England, on July 27, 1954.
