DescriptionOne of two birds from a pair: (1) faces proper left, (2) faces proper right. Each molded bird with an ovoid body with folded wings. The tails rectangular and gently curved. The heads with large rectangular crests turned slightly toward the viewer. Each bird perched straddling a naturally-molded tree truck with growths of mushrooms all around. The birds modeled realistically and standing proud of the trunk. The wings, chest, and tail feathers incised into the molded body. The crests with incised cross hatching. The center backs with obvious mold line. The crests green; the wings and tails in yellow, blue, and green; the heads washed with gray. The trunks gray and the mushrooms tipped in yellow and green. The stalks of the mushrooms and the central bodies of the bird reserved. The undersides concave with central air holes. A flat "ring" of irregular shape supports each trunk and serves as the foot.
