DescriptionCard table: flat, rectangular folding top with square, projecting corners; top veneered and decorated with strip of cross-banded veneer around edge; top hinged at rear, opens to reveal baize-covered surface with exception of four, square wood corners bordered by narrow band of raised molding; veneered skirt; drawer in front skirt without handles, is pulled out by means of leather tab nailed to top; heavy band of carved gadrooning below skirt on front and sides; table supported by four cabriole legs, each with heavy leaf carving on knees surrounding central narrow section of cross hatching; left carving extends outward to shoulders; legs terminate in claw and ball feet; left rear leg swings out on gate to support top.

Woods: Primary: walnut and walnut veneer; Secondary: oak.
ProvenanceEx coll: Mrs. Dorothy Hart, London, England. According to correspondence in files Mr. Hart purchased the tables from Mallet in 1932.
