DescriptionStraight top rail, rectangular in section, with chamfered front edge; square-sectioned stiles with spiral turnings on lower half; rectangular cross brace connects stiles half way down back; upper half of back stuffed and covered with original reddish-brown leather, fastened to frame with original brass headed nails; "square" seat frame upholstered over edges with similar leather and nails as back; two front legs formed in a combination of blocking and spiral turning, terminating in button feet; rear legs, rectangular in section, are a continuation of the back stiles and taper back slightly at the base; six rectangulars stretchers (1 each in front and back, 2 on each side)1650-1670
