DescriptionSplat-back side chair: yoke cresting rail which merges into tapering, shaped stiles; narrow, vase-shaped splat shaped to follow profile of stiles; splat fitted into rectangular bottom rail molded on front face; balloon seat covered with replacement rush with exposed front corners; blocked, baluster and ring-turned front legs terminating in Spanish feet; rear legs square in section, flaring to rear, and chamfered on inside edges below stretchers; ball, ring, and baluster-turned front stretcher; rectangular side and rear stretchers.Woods: right stretcher identified as birch by microanalysis.
