DescriptionWhite salt-glazed stoneware teapot and cover of bowed octagonal-oblong shape; reeded shoulder and straight neck; spout molded in relief with floral spray; "S"shaped loop handle molded with nubby pattern and tri-feather end; and spreading base with rosettte and cross decoration. Six panels of the pot molded in relief, the corner with birds and vine design, the larger panels with scenes: one with full lengthportrait of man (Admiral Vernon) flanked by a tree below "BY AD VERNON" and buildings and ship below "FORT CHARCRE", sea monster extending across bottom; other panel with scene including ships (British fleet) in foreground and buildings (city of Porto Bello) in background, in upper left corner, "PORTO BELLO TAKEN."
