DescriptionSoft-paste porcelain bowl with molded decoration in relief that resembles cabbage leaves. The exterior leaves have been painted with enamels, green fading to yellow. The veins of the leaves and the foot of the bowl have been painted with purple enamel. There are four hand-painted insects of varying size and color on the inside of the bowl.Label TextSeveral bowls in this shape appear in the two red anchor period Chelsea catalogs including "a cabbage leaf bason" and "an old leaf bason." A biscuit waster of most of a similar bowl was found on the site of the Chelsea factory.
