DescriptionA heavily potted cup-shaped tea bowl molded in relief on the exterior with overlapping leaves of acanthus type, terminating in eight stalk feet. Painted in overglaze enamels in red, yellow, blue, green, and purple on the exterior with floral sprays, flying insects and a beetle, and with fruit on the interior bottom.
Label TextAlthough many of the surviving teacups in the strawberry-leaf design have been left in the white, several, like this one, have been decorated with insects and flowers painted in enamel colors of red, yellow, blue, green, and purple. Most recorded examples are marked with a triangle.
