DescriptionRectangular bed sheet woven of natural linen in plain or tabby weave. Made in two pieces, with center seam butted and stitched lengthwise at selvages. Hand-stitched hems top and bottom measure slightly less than 1/4" wide. Selvages form side finish. Hand cross or marking stitch near center seam reads, AM 1745. Another mark in the other panel reads AM. Thin and stained. Linen selvage width about 38 1/2".
Thread count: 39-40 warps/ inch X 34-36 wefts/ inch.
Label TextThis sheet was identified by a later descendent as that of Pennsylvania resident Agnes Croasdel Warner Mitchel. She was first married to Joseph Warner, and her second husband was Richard Mitchel.
