DescriptionFolding bedstead: Turned, folding low front posts with circular knob at top, similar though higher head posts containing peaked headboard, stained red; "square" in section front and rear rails with incised lines at top and bottom on outside edge; "square" in section side rails with joint for folding bed up approximately one third of way from headposts; pair of turned legs at joints in side rails connected by a shaped supporting member; inside of each rail rabbeted to contain wooden rope pegs; traces of original dark green paint on rails.Woods: The headboard and cross brace beneath the bed are white pine, all other elements are maple.
