DescriptionLooking glass with boldly scrolled crest consisting of flat central area flanked by one downward curving volute at each side surmounting a foliate spur; at each side of these elements two graduated upward curving elements; crest slightly shaped at each side; frame for glass consists of a double ovolo molding gently curving downward from a top central peak, rounded top corners, and two interrupted curves until forming a straight side and continuing at right angles to a straight bottom; four pieces of vertical veneer form surface of crest; frame for glass formed of two to six inch strips; original backboard secured with original brads; original mirrored glass of a small upper section and a large lower section each beveled in the outline of the frame.1780-1800
