DescriptionArmchair; serpentine cresting rail with projecting uncarved ears and with central motif of a volute at either side of a three-part leaf motif carved in high relief above a miniature and upside down version of the same at the top of the splat; slightly shaped stiles plain below the arms and each with three flutes extending from the cresting rail to just above the arms; splat with one outward and downward carving volute at each side of top; central area of interlaced elements forming an open heart at each side of an upright oval; base of splat an open area in shape of an interverted heart with outward curve at apex; moldings at base of splat; boldly shaped arm at each side terminating in an outward and downward curving knuckle; one upward curving arm support at each side, cylindrical in cross section and with leaf-carved terminal at base over a rounded and upward curving element with "C" scroll to rear; seat rails undercut front and sides; side rails of seat morticed through rear legs; trapezoidal slip seat with original leather covering over webbing; commode frame beneath slip seat; cabriole front legs terminating in claw-and-ball feet and with knees deeply carved in foliage with a half-flower at top outer corner of each; stump back legs flare to rear and cylindrical in cross section.

Woods: Primary wood is mahogany with tulip-popular (micro) corner block and yellow-pine (micro) slip seat.
