DescriptionSilver cream pot; plain, helmet shape with chased floral festoons on sides, vacant cartouche under spout, engraved band following embossed bead rim and on pedestal, circular pedestal on plinth, raised handle engraved at top.The object is a silver cream jug with a square plinth base and round trumpet-shaped foot which supports an ovoid body with a saddle-shaped rim/spout. The body is extensively decorated with fine stippled roulette decorated boarders and engraved floral swags with a cartouche beneath the spout. There is a plain strap handle with strike work decoration at the top of the bow.
MarkingsMarked in relief on side of foot: 1) leopard's head crowned; 2) lion passant; 3) sponsor's mark "HB" in script; 4) date letter "p" for 1790-91; and 5) duty mark.
