DescriptionPetticoat coordinating with a formal gown of cream-ground silk brocaded with silver gilt. The front ground textile of the petticoat is brocaded silk in a pattern including angular lines forming an open diamond framework for multicolor flowers. This textile is pieced up and is different in pattern from that of the gown. The petticoat is trimmed with double flounces that match the original gown's fabric. The back of the petticoat is plain ivory taffeta. Waistband created by later linen extensions at the waist.Construction History:
