DescriptionSquare whole-cloth quilt made of natural-color linen warp/ cotton weft textile copperplate-printed in red. The design consists of "Cockatoos," or long-tailed birds, perched on meandering boughs laden with fruit and flowers and teepee-like structures. The bed cover is quilted with running stitches to linen backing that consists of reused sheets in a design of parallel lines spaced from 1/2 to 3/4" apart, arranged in zig-zags or chevron pattern about 8 1/2" between direction changes. Wool batting. Quilt is bound with small-scale floral printed cotton.MarkingsThe lining consisting of a reused linen bed sheet is marked "HG".
