Bennett N.o 53 Fleet Street:/ as the Act directs 5.th June.1777."Label TextThomas Pownall (1722-1805) was a British public official who served as the Lieutenant Governor of New Jersey in 1755, served as the governor of the Provice of Massachysetts Bay from 1757 to 1760, and served on the House of Commons 1767-1780. Prior to the French and Indian War, he travelled extensively throughout the American Colonies, publishing his drawings in a series of prints "Scenographia Americana." He funded Lewis Evans' 1755 map of North America.
