Blue tin glaze decoration in soft blue on the rim with small coat of arms incorporating a shield with three roses and a chevron; a helmet crest, and elaborate scrolls; bright brown edge. On the base, the date 1742 in blue.Label TextThe arms that appear on this set of plates are believed to be those of Edwards of Mags-yr-heu-ilys, Denbighshire, Wales, even though they seem to be reversed. The Liverpool attribution is based on that city's proximity to north Wales.
