DescriptionSquare tile with canted sides. Whitish tin glaze decorated in blue with a European landscape; two men with walking sticks, a large tree, and several bushes within two concentric bands; barred ox-head corners. Pinholes at all four corners.
Label TextTiles with barred ox-head corners like those seen here are associated with London, but were also used in Holland. The early date for this tile and the London attribution are based on the color, the glaze, and the sponged trees, all of which relate to early London wares (see CWF accession 1971-126).
