DescriptionWhite salt-glazed stoneware teapot: white bodied globular pot with crabstock spout, handle, and lid handle. Base with trimmed footring. Enamelling--all but lid handle, handle, and spout and 2 body reserves painted in black "ermine" pattern. Detailing in black grain patterns on handles and spout. 2 side reserves bordered with pink scalloped frames, one with panel bearing "Fred. Prufsia Rex" in black on pink and having 4 green leaves around bust profile portrait of king of Prussia, looking to left with curly wig tied to ponytail with black ribbon, similar ribbon around neck, white lacey collar, ermine robe with pink collar, royal blue sleeve, and gold clasp at shoulder. Background of royal blue. Other panel with black royal eagle with outspread wings, wearing gold crown, overlapped by twisting pink ribbon inscribed in black "Semper Sub- limis", with a cental flower in pink with green trim (resembles a venus flytrap?), background of royal blue. Note that bottom of pot also bears ermine decoration.
