DescriptionA pair of gloves made of chamois embroidered with silk and metallic thread. The embroidery depicts a rampant lion with a crown, as well as floral motifs; this is done in blue, green, yellow, pink, and metallic threads. Vellum is likely used to support the embroidery and is exposed in some of the embroidery. The thumb of the glove is a separate piece that is felled in. The gauntlets are not a separate piece. The gloves are unlined.Construction History:
1. 17th or early 18th century: Initial construction
2. January 19, 1954: Cleaning, repairing, restoring by Ernest LoNano.
