DescriptionRectangular panel, once a woman's gown skirt, mordant-painted and resist-dyed in an undulating floral design, bordered along one side with an 8" width of undulating flowers and leaves and an outer line of red and blue. The border runs lengthwise parallel to the selvage, but forms the hem of the skirt when worn. The colors are blue, reds, lavender, green, and yellow, all with dark brown thin vines on a white ground.ProvenancePurchased in England by dealer.
