DescriptionFragment of cotton, mordant-painted and resist-dyed in indigo and madder colors of red, pink, lavender, and purple on a white ground. The design consists of exotic flowers and leaves on curving stems, forming an all-over pattern. Fragments of two narrow floral borders are present along one edge. The textile is pieced and seamed down the center. Border edges are ragged and missing parts.Label TextThe presence of fragmentary borders suggests that this textile was once part of a larger panel known as a palampore.
