Label TextGeorge Richardson specialized in the production of tea wares, and he created the most remarkable group of sugar bowls or basins in American pewter. They have always been well regarded by collectors. This particular example probably dates between the dissolution in 1841 of the Glennore Company, whose mark does not appear on this piece, and Richardson's departure in 1845 from Cranston, Rhode Island (see CWF accession 1991-647).
