DescriptionCertificate reads as follows: "These are to Certify, that Mr. John Minson Galt Surgeon has deligently attended my Lectures on the Theory & Practice of Midwifery, & has also deliver' d & been present at a number of real Labours, by which he has had the opportunity of being fully Instructed in all the different branches & Operations of that Art, Witenss my hand this 25th day of May 1768." It is signed "Colin Mackenzie M.D. & 12 Courses Teacher of Midwifery in London" "F. Perry Sculp.t"Label TextDr. John Minson Galt (1744-1808) practiced medicine and ran the apothocary in Williamsburg, Virginia. He studied medicine London where he earned this certificate in the art of midwifery.
