DescriptionTea canister, stoneware, cylindrical body rises to slightly sloping shoulder terminating in a short neck. Small moulded ridges on base and shoulder. Inscised on side with cobalt-filled script, "Green Tea / 1759".Label TextAlthough simple white stoneware coffee cups, waste bowls, and tea canisters are less common, they are well-documented in the archaeological record.
