DescriptionGoblet with almost hemispherical bowl on a knopped stem and straight spreading foot. Whitish tin glaze decorated in blue; on the bowl exterior, bird-on-rock design, flowers, and leaves; on the bowl interior, floral sprigs and the inscription "TL August 30, 1717"; floral sprigs and bands around the foot and bands around rim, knop, and stem.Label TextThe interior of this goblet is inscribed "T L / August the 30 / 1717." The only other recorded eighteenth-century example of the form in delft is dated 1715 and was excavated in Lambeth.
