Label TextWilliam and Samuel Yale, sons of a pewter button maker, set up business in their hometown of Meriden, Connecticut, in 1813. At that time, they acquired molds from the estate of Jacob Eggleston of Middletown, Connecticut, who had worked in Fayetteville, North Carolina, between 1807 and 1812. They probably continued in business until about 1820. Their surviving work is rare.
