DescriptionAppearance: Oval back with double-beaded edges; back composed of three shaped vertical members; center member pierced and fan-shaped at top with four inlaid pendant bellflowers hanging from an inlaid oval and a single pierced teardrop below; side members each with acanthus leaf carving at top with pair of piercings similar to those on center splat below; serpentine double-beaded arms; upholstered over the rail; side seat rails bowed, front rail slightly saddled; tapering front legs, square in section and molded on outside faces; rear legs square in section, tapering slightly and flaring to rear; braced by rectangular side, rear and medial stretchers.Construction: typical chair construction with the following notes; arms secured to stiles with single screws; medial stretcher tenoned into side stretchers; diagonal braces set into each corner of the seat frame; mahogany veneer on back of rear seat rail.
Markings"III" in chalk on inside of front seat rail.
