DescriptionWomen's shoes made of cream ribbed silk brocaded with brown and pink flowers. Shoes have pointed tongues and straps (latchets) over the instep intended for removable buckles. They are lined in off-white linen and bound with cream silk tapeDeeply curved "Louis" heels; slightly pointed toes.ProvenanceThe shoes descended in donor's family and were worn by a member of the Willis or Osgood family of Massachusetts. The most likely original owner was Mary Ball Willis in the 1770s.
