DescriptionThis Chinese export porcelain coffee cup is decorated in dark puce or red overglaze enamels and gilding. The nearly straight-sided form sits on a 3/16" foot. The molded handle is applied low on the body and features a small, oval thumbrest with a reeded edge flanked by two tiny raised dots, The base of the handle is marked by a series of diagonal reeds. The exterior rim bears a fine line with wavy foliate band punctuated on every fourth trough by a floral/ribbon pendant. The front features a roughly lozenge-shaped cluster of flowers. The interior rim bears a chain of bellflowers or dot and dart.A 2 1/4" hairline descends from rim to near base and some wear to enamel. A 1" hairline extends diagonally from a 1/8" rim chip.
