DescriptionCovered sugar bowl with intertwined strap handles on either side of the piece. The handles are embellished with foliated antefixes. A fine American eagle in sepia with gold highlights is painted on front and reverse. An alternating blue and gold husk chain is painted around the foot and the lid and the knop is highlighted in gold as well. The rim of the lid has a band of gilding painted around it and the handle terminals are further embellished with touches of sepia and gilding.ProvenanceLaura and Jack Boys, Newburyport, Massachusetts
