DescriptionChinese export porcelain saucer decorated in opaque enamels with a central pseudo-armorial shield with an ermine mantling. Above the shield is a pair of birds facing one another atop a bar sinister, and a small bow-tied ribbon is at the top of the mantling. The entire central decoration is crowned with a small and finely-detailed sailing ship flying a large American flag. Within the shield are the initials SL. The saucer is further embellished with an inner border of small four dotted stars and a double outer border of blue with gilt stars and a fish-scaled rust border.Very good.
