DescriptionChinese export porcelain ladle with turned wooden handle.The circular bowl is opaque enameled on the exterior bottom with a floral spray in rose, purple, blue, yellow and green. Around the sides, four ruyi-head-shaped panels contain floral sprigs. The panels are formed of underglaze-blue foliate scrolls heightened in gilding. The interior bears a small sprig. Porcelain cuff is pierced on four sides to accept nails which hold the turned handle. ProvenanceMurray F. Nimmo
